Who is this class for?
Our Women's Self Defense seminar is for cis and trans women, and nonbinary folks who feel comfortable being in a women-centered class.
We also welcome anyone aged 13 years and older, as long as when they register we have an adult signature on file. There's no upper age limit.
Nope! This is the great thing about learning Krav Maga. It's an effective, efficient self defense system that was developed to be learned quickly.
Dress in athletic clothing you feel comfortable moving and sweating in. Bring a bottle of water.
For Krav Maga class, we don’t allow training with outdoor shoes on our blue mats. You are welcome to train barefoot (which is what most people do) or bring any athletic shoes that you only wear on our mats. You’ll want to bring them in and change into them once on the mats.
Yes, absolutely! We'll teach you skills to get you home safe. You don't have to do anything in our class that you don't feel comfortable doing.
I've been assaulted in the past and I'm nervous about being triggered.
We advise you to speak to a licensed therapist about whether this is the right training (and the right time) for you right now. We're not mental healthcare professionals. However, we have found many of our students find healing in unexpected ways when they pair working with a mental healthcare professional with training in Krav Maga.
With that said, you can opt out of anything, at any time, and for any reason. (And you don't owe us an explanation why.)
Do you have a regular Women's Self Defense class?
Yes! Emily and Kaci teach Women's Self Defense every Thursday at 7pm.

About Kaci
In 2018, she founded Krav Maga ATX out of a desire to create a more inclusive, thoughtful, and welcoming Krav Maga community.
About Emily
A year after the birth of her first child, Emily’s friend recommended trying Krav Maga. Over the next year, she gained confidence and empowerment, both personally and as a mother.
Emily is passionate about teaching Krav Maga in a way that emphasizes potential dangers and contexts, but in a way that is easily understandable, fun, and empowering.
